One out of four workers changed jobs last year, as they were forced to quit.
According to Statistics Korea, the number of workers forced to leave their jobs stood at roughly 720,000 in 2013, up more than 100,000 from the previous year.
About half of them were laid off, while others had their temporary job contracts expire.
Lower-income workers were hit the hardest. The number of layoffs in the bottom 20 percent income bracket soared to 65,000 last year from 26,000 in 2012.
