Park Meets New U.S. Ambassador

New U.S. Ambassador to Korea Mark Lippert presented his credentials to President Park Geun-hye at Cheong Wa Dae on Friday.

Park said the appointment of Lippert, a former aide to U.S. President Barack Obama, marks the "finishing touch" of the Korea-U.S. alliance.

The president thanked the new U.S. ambassador for his efforts to familiarize himself with Korean culture by attending a baseball game and making kimchi.

Lippert said he supports Park's vision of advancing the Seoul-Washington alliance and vowed to get to know the Korean people better and experience the country's history and culture.
