Jeju is popular with tourists for its beautiful scenery. The resort island's waterfalls are no exception, and the breathtaking views are not to be missed.
◆ Cheonjiyeon Waterfall
Cheonjiyeon Waterfall, named to mean a pond which connects land to sky, is about 22 m high and 20 m deep. The surrounding area is natural habitat for rare plants and other species.
It is a good place for romantic outings, as the waterfall is illuminated with lights at night. There is also an observatory where visitors enjoy breathtaking views of Mt. Halla, Korea's highest mountain.
◆ Jeongbang Waterfall
Jeongbang Waterfall is the only Korean waterfall that empties directly into the ocean. At 23 m high, it creates a magnificent spectacle surrounded by pine trees along the coastline. Visitors can also play under the waterfall, a special treat during the hot summer months.
◆ Eongtto Waterfall
Eongtto Waterfall flows after rainfall of more than 70 mm. Visitors only get to see the sight about 10 times per year. It is about 50 m high and boasts a great view with beautiful rocky cliffs. Don't miss it with weather permitting.
◆ Wonang Waterfall
Wonang Waterfall is hidden in the forest of a recreational area called Donnaeko. A 10-minute walk along a trail reveals its shining emerald hue. This unique and beautiful scenery cannot be seen anywhere else.
