According to the Korean Film Council on Monday, Hollywood blockbuster "Interstellar" hit the 8-million mark in cinema attendance here, some three weeks after its release on Nov. 6.
It drew more than 352,000 moviegoers on Sunday alone, bringing the total to 8.31 million.
As the film still draws a herd of spectators, it is expected to soon hit the 10-million mark in attendance. Only two foreign films -- James Cameron's "Avatar" and Disney animation "Frozen" -- drew over 10 million viewers here.
"Interstellar" follows a team of explorers who travel through space in search of a habitable planet.
Its star-studded cast includes Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway and Matt Damon.
